We had talked about setting up a permanent page of essential articles, books, videos, etc back at New Mogul. This article deserves a place on such a page.

Interesting idea. I am in fact a moderator here and I'll talk to Derek about it. (Derek, if you're reading this, please comment here -- it'll save email(s).)

You probably already know about this, but in case you don't, there's a "Best" section (though it's primarily based off of votes): http://markenomics.com/best

Miles, do you see this happening at any point in the future? I would be glad to help you and Prakash try to get something set up.

I would certainly love to see such a page happen. Prakash and I are not moderators on Markenomics, but I believe StevenJ is. Derek Moeller is the site owner.

Thanks, Miles. I thought I had read at one point that you and Prakash had some sort of moderator role. I guess that was at New Mogul. All my days since about September of last year seem to just blend together into one giant caffeine-fueled mess.

Great idea. I'll start looking at implementing this.

Excellent article. Lewis is the best at this kind of reporting.

Fyi, this article was an excerpt from Lewis' upcoming book "The Big Short" (March 15, 2010): http://www.amazon.com/Big-Short-Inside-Doomsday-Machine/dp/0...

I normally don't buy hardcover versions of books unless they are textbooks; however, with Michael Lewis I might make an exception. I have been a fan since I read Liar's Poker eight years ago.

This article is amazing. Steven, thank you for providing it. I'm going to try to find a way to incorporate it into a paper that is due on Monday.

I agree. Without delving into all my archives I think I can comfortably say that it makes my list of top 5 articles in the last year. It may even be #1.
